Why are even numbers so pessimistic?
Because the odds are always against them.
Well, the cat is on my lap. The dogs are on the couch. All the other humans are still asleep. This is the best time of the day, especially a Saturday. The only problem is that I’ll have to get up soon. Nobody’s gonna fix that second cup of coffee for me. They say it’s the little things, and they’re right I suppose. But to me, these things are huge. Anyway, it’s a great day to be on the right side of the grass, even if it does need cutting. Here’s hoping everyone’s Saturday is terrific, and here comes your hot, fresh link. 👇👇👇
Yes, this is a horror story, specifically middle grade folk horror. This book has been my most difficult to market. Why? Probably the title. Certain distributors aren’t comfortable with it being sold as a middle grade book. Even AI tries to make the story far more gruesome than it actually is. They list it as a young adult story. I completely disagree. It is written for a middle grade audience. Horror stories are important because they help children (9 or 10 and up, to my mind) to begin a relationship with the unknown. That is important. Like most folk horror stories, it’s a cautionary tale that reminds kids not to mess with what they don’t understand in a creepy, but kind of cool, way.
Okay, so I did a thing. I went and bought myself a nifty little domain name. Right now, it’s just a landing page of links, a hub if you will. There are several things that may happen with it, including eventually taking this Substack in as a subdomain. Right now, you can use it as a starting point to check out all my stuff online from social media, to book shopping, and to this here little newsletter. There’s even a Spotify link to my Free Audiobook, THE FISH CREEK FORUM VOLUME 1. Take a look. 👇👇👇
And now more of what you pretended to listen to that time share presentation so you could get an almost free vacation to save up for a winter Saturday, all my social media posts for the week, polished and primed for your viewing pleasure.
Until Next Time, God Bless!
