I bought a new grape scented lightbulb. But when I put it in my lamp, it didn’t work. Turns out it didn’t have enough juice.
Author world news is pretty much more of the same as last week. Amazon’s new algorithm has people scrambling. My sales went up by one whole book this month, which kind of makes sense. I had pulled my ads a few months ago because of the new AI search phenomenon, basically letting some of the large language models get to know my work. I’m not sure how all this is supposed to play out. People pay for ads, and they should get their money’s worth. In other words, is the company acting in good faith? There are other avenues, of course. Authors are going to find a way to get their books into readers’ hands.
I hope everyone had a great Halloween and All Saints Day. Here’s a post-Halloween tactic I like to use with my crumb snatchers. I keep their candy haul in the trunk of my car. When we get home from our daily outings, I open it up and let them pick one thing apiece. This way, the goodies last a lot longer and, more importantly, I don’t eat any of it.
On the writing front, no new chapters have been completed for MoonDom Five, though Chapter Twenty-Seven has begun in earnest. Basically, I’m working on getting the new Great Liaison into the big battle. There are now 18 full pages of jokes for kids, and we’re well into page 19. That leaves us with the big announcement. Okay, sort of big announcement. Okay, the announcement.

A little behind-the-scenes info: All 100 memes are complete, and I’m in the process of formatting the book now. So far, 35 of them are done and baked to a golden brown. It’ll be ready well before the live date unless I end up in a coma for the next month. Of course, there will be a paperback and hardcover released also. Finally, just want to remind you that my Redneck Lingo Series is written for adults, but it is family friendly.
