I don’t want to get too political here, but veganism will never be a kitchen table issue.
It’s actually good news for readers this week, though it’s a topic that I find to be rather exhausting, which is artificial intelligence. In an interview this past week, the CEO of Kobo said that about 45% of their submissions are kicked out of the system due to being AI slop. Couple that with Barnes and Noble Press taking steps to keep AI books from flooding their market, and throw in D2D’s recent announcements geared toward keeping content farming out of their systems, and you’ve got big industry standards working on your behalf. Even Amazon and Ingram Spark, aka the big dogs, are taking steps to keep AI use as transparent as possible. All this is quite good for readers, especially the transparency part. Given the fact that BN’s CEO admitted that the company would sell AI content IF people wanted it, the upshot here is that YOU THE READERS are the ones in control.
I gathered this info over time from several sources including as Dale L. Robert’s, Draft 2 Digital, and the Alliance of Independent Authors.

On the writing front, we are at the top of page 40 of the jokes for kids project. Slow and steady wins the race. Work on the ebook cover was begun yesterday. Still going with the emu. We got chapters 15 and 16 of the Squash Light drafted and are sitting at 12,692 words. I’m thinking there will be at least two more chapters plus a short epilogue and author’s note. School starts back in three weeks, so it’s focus time.
Until Next Time, God Bless!
