My uncle bought three horses, but his barn only had two stables. He finally decided that horse A would go in the first stable and horse B in the second. The other horse could just go jump in the pond. He was the C horse anyway.
A little update on a big company is on the menu for today. It will affect you as readers in the future, though you would probably never know it unless somebody told you. Well, here I am. The nearly 200 year old and soon to be no more institution known as Baker & Taylor is getting just a tiny breath of new life. The most valuable arm of B&T is its distribution company. Another company has agreed to buy it. From what I understand, the headquarters will be moved, but every employee will be offered a new job. That’s kind of a nice ending for Christmas time, I’d say. The rest of the company with its massive debt, of course, has to go. It’s a big change in the publishing world for sure. Remember, almost every library book that you, your parents, and your grandparents ever held in-hand more than likely came through this company. Again, you and probably your children will be affected as readers in some way by the acquisition.
Today I’m wrapping up launch week for REDNECK LINGO THE FOURTH. Everything is set up in Amazon, Google Play, and on Gumroad. My B2R link is live, covering everything but the last company on that list. Thanks to everyone who put up with my relentless shenanigans on social media. It will now go into the promo rotation with the rest of the family in my humor book section. So here’s one more link and graphic posted with a feeling of true gratitude. 👇👇👇
In other news, the EOY Smashwords Sale starts tomorrow. Everything I have over there, which is most of my titles, will be half off. That makes a few of my ebooks absolutely free, by the way. Thousands of authors participate, so it’s a great way to fill up your Kindles, ereaders, or reading Apps. Posting the link and graphic below. 👇👇👇
On the writing front, a much needed break has been taken. MoonDom Five is about to go into its first round of edits. I usually wait about a week so I can look at it with fresh eyes. Second round will be done by someone else, and final round will come back to me. This will create a tentative release date of late February to early March, just in time for spring break readers to get their copy. The next joke for kids that I write will be on the 21st page of the manuscript. I’d like to focus more on this kind of humor and audience in the future, but I’d also like a million dollars in my bank account. Each is just as likely as the other at this point.
Until Next Time, God Bless and Merry Christmas!
