Did you hear about the substitute teacher who collapsed this morning? When the kids came into the classroom, they found her on the floor. She was laid out on the cold tile, her blonde hair in her face, a huge stack of papers scattered all about. Of course, the kids tried to help her. They woke her up and asked her if she was okay. One of the kids began picking up all those papers. That was when she found a sticky note attached to the front side of one of them. It read, “Please Pass Out. Thank You!”
Two news nuggets that can directly affect you as readers today. One is for audiophiles, and the other is for fans of any reading format. Well, if we’re talking about audiobooks, you may have guessed that we’re talking about Spotify, and you would be right. They are rolling out yet another feature - audiobook charts. Just like you could find out which songs are popular on the old billboard, you’ll now be able to peruse audiobook charts to find out what people are listening to within the Spotify app.
Next up, the Alliance of Independent Authors (of which I am not a member) has opened up an online bookstore. It has categories and links to purchase. All the books within it are written by ALLI members, which means you get access to thousands of independent authors, especially from the US and UK. If you’re one of those fabulous Indy Readers, go to bookstore.allianceindependentauthors.org and start digging into the treasure trove. Full disclosure, you won’t find my books there, but I do recommend ALLI (or similar groups) to all authors.
You may have noticed a new section in this website. Literally last night, I decided to add a TRAILER PARK to my page. It will be free for all to view, and will have my book trailers in it. I don’t like that I made some pretty cool videos and they have no place to live other than perhaps YouTube. That’s okay I suppose, but it’s not “my page.” I want them to be a part of my suite of media experiences (for some reason). Anyway, there’s only one video right now, but more are on the way. There will be a metered roll out so you won’t be inundated with pesky emails from yours truly.
Commercial time:
Today is the last day of Smashwords’ “Read an Ebook Week.” All my titles are 50% off. 3 are FREE to a good home. After going to Smashwords.com/sale , just type my name in the search bar and click on my pic. Get the free books for your kids - two poetry books and my first MG Fantasy, THE CURSE OF MR. M’S CASTLE. Thanks in Advance!
On Friday the 13th, my latest title, MOONDOM FIVE, goes live. If you’d like to preorder it for just 99 cents, got to Books2Read.com/MoonDomFive to check it out. Ego aside, it’s probably the best Middle Grade book I’ve ever written.

On the writing front, we are sitting pretty right on top of page 28. I’ve noticed that there are very few knock knock jokes this time around. Perhaps my comedy is maturing a little? NAH! Squash Light is in the research phase, and it looks like I’m going to be a “plantser” on this one. I’ve got a basic outline for the story, though I have no idea if I’m actually going to stick to it.
Until Next Time, God Bless!
