What kind of pudding is never good at school?
Pudding your pants back on after they fell off in front of everybody.
There’s not a lot of author or reader news out there this week, so let’s talk about Jesus. After all, this is a news letter and the fact that He is risen is the best news for everyone.
You still here? Cool. Don’t worry, we’re not going to church right now. I just wanted to tell you a few things that you may have missed while snoozing through a sermon. For instance, you probably thought there were just two soldiers at the tomb. I’m afraid not. Those two soldiers were centurions, or captains of one hundred men, so there were up to two hundred soldiers laid out on the dirt like dead men. Some people think that the stone, tons heavy by the way, was simply rolled to the side. Again, nope. Greek is a very exact language. Rolled away means that stone was gone, baby. And what about those earthquakes? Turns out, all that was recorded by different sources. No only that, but archeological and geological evidence points to a lot of seismic activity during the time as well.
The good news is that Jesus did all this in a spectacular and public way to let you know beyond any reasonable doubt what He did for you and me. That’s the best news I have ever heard. In other words, Happy Easter!
Here’s the link to my latest book. It’s a fun Sci-Fi/Fantasy Adventure for Middle Grade readers.
At a smidge under 30K words, it’s just enough for reluctant readers sink their proverbial teeth into. It has plenty of action and fun sparks for the imagination. I think so, anyway. The audiobook is just at 3 hours long, so it can take up some road trip time. Scroll through the MG Fantasy Adventures podcast on this page to listen to the introduction and first chapter for free. There are plenty of free discussion podcast episodes and trailer videos about it as well. I like to let parents know what they are getting for their kids to read. No agenda, just good stories.
On the writing front, we are securely sitting in the middle of page 30, which is exactly 11,666 words worth of jokes for kids. We will probably stay there through next Sunday, as this is my and my kids’ spring break. Tomorrow, the plan is to start Squash Light in earnest. The research is pretty much done. There’s only so much cool stuff to learn about pumpkins. 🎃
Once again, Happy Easter.
Until Next Time, God Bless!
