August has arrived. There is but one holiday to be observed. August 13th is Southpaw Day. So next week, be sure to let your left handed friends know you’re happy they’re still alive. We have been surviving in a right handed world and it ain’t easy.
The Big Smashwords sale is over, and I just want to express my gratitude. Sixty-nine of you downloaded free ebooks. I truly hope you enjoy them. Most of them are great stories for kids, but adults will get a kick out of them too. Here’s a screenshot of the sales report.
Okay, there is another, much smaller, promotion going on right now. My nonfiction title, SCHOOLING ABRAHAM, is on sale for 99 cents on Kobo. Sale price is good through August 5th. Of course, that means it’s on sale pretty much everywhere else too. This is the perfect book for parents to read as they send their kids off to school. I’m biased, though. Here’s the link. 👇👇👇

On the writing front, we held a memorial for my cousin, Leslie, yesterday. I intend to dedicate my current WIP, WHITE, (first draft about 80% complete) to his memory. Cancer is a terrible disease. He should be enjoying his grandchildren right now. Like my other cousin challenged us during the service, keep in touch with your loved ones. Don’t let funerals be the only time your family gets together. It won’t be easy to do. As I write this newsletter, I have to acknowledge that I will not be attending a family reunion being held this afternoon because I didn’t plan for it properly. That having been said, I still recommend you try.
