In Horsey Town, all the males do what the oldest female says because, you know, she’s the city mare.
There’s a lot of inside baseball publishing news this week. I’m not going to go too far into it because I’m not sure how much, if at all, it will affect you as readers. Basically there are trust issues with Spotify. It’s by no means a scandal, but many authors, myself included, are waiting to pull the proverbial trigger when it comes to uploading audiobooks on the app. There’s nothing underhanded going on, but the deal may not be worth it. Time will tell.
The other thing is from the design app, Canva. They’ve added some new features, like they do periodically. The ones that jumped out at me were audio. Looks like they worked out their copyright issues and people can put music and sound effects in their designs again. They’ve also got some AI voiceover tools. I tried them out yesterday. They’re not that good, but they’re not that bad either. Here’s what I posted on one of social media platforms. 👇👇👇
Nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done. I have some ideas involving QR codes that could make the next Redneck Lingo book more interesting and interactive. Not committing to that yet, though.
On the writing front, MoonDom Five’s first draft is over halfway complete. We’re at eighteen chapters with 15,101 words. I’d like to keep it between 20-25K, but I have no idea how that’s going to go because I’m totally a “pantser” or discovery writer with this project. What I do know is that it’s time to celebrate a little. Since I’m already doing videos, here’s a little taste of the story so far. 👇👇👇
The new Redneck Lingo book is still on track to be done by the end of the year, perhaps before Christmas. I may be pushing it, but you never know. There are seventy-three memes in the queue, so just a smidge under three quarters of the way there. The kids jokes still are moving on at a slow and steady pace. We’re halfway through the fifteenth page. Not bad.
Don’t forget that you can find all my books in the subtitle links above. The Books 2 Read link will pretty much get you to any retailer out there except Gumroad, which is why it’s also up there. The Amazon link is just there because that’s the one people always ask about, and I’m nothing if not accommodating. I do have a sale coming up, but that’s in the library system, so no promos from me on that one.
Until Next Time, God Bless!
