Don’t want to start a controversy, but lately I’ve been about as useless as the L in salmon. (Some of you just got mad about that.)
Speaking of Ls, let’s talk about Google Notebook ML. Why am I using it on my Substack? I have two reasons. The first is that I like playing with the new toy. It’s fun to listen to a podcast about your book, even if it is AI generated. Truth is, it’s a great way to see if your message comes across or not. The other reason is that AI is changing the way people search on the internet, so it’s a good idea for it to know about your book. Some people even take pics of a stack of books, share it with ChatGPT or whichever service they prefer, and ask it to recommend books based on the photo. Authors know that AI won’t recommend their books unless it knows about them. The good news, however, is that open pages like this one on Substack are available for AI to scour on the web. That helps too. What can I say? The world is changing.
Also, I wouldn’t use Google Notebook ML if I didn’t think it provided something valuable for you. It is a great way for parents to find out if my work is right for their kids to enjoy. Personally, I think it would be nice if all publishers had a way of sending information like this out there for parents. That’s just my two cents, though. Anyway, you can check out brief podcasts about my books in the MG Fantasy Adventures section of this Substack or look it up on Spotify, because I’m fancy like that.
Let’s talk about the sale. We’re a little over halfway through the Smashwords Summer/Winter Sale. All my titles are at least half off (four are FREE). Just type my name in the search bar. My books start on the second page (which I’m not thrilled about). Over 150K authors are participating this year. Here’s your link followed by a nifty graphic. 👇👇👇

On the writing front, I’ve completed chapter eleven and begun chapter twelve of MoonDom Five. We’re currently at 8,655 words. I’ve written exactly zero kid’s jokes since last week, but knocked out several redneck memes. There are now fifty-five in the cue. We’re a little over halfway there. I’m also thinking about my next Mini-Verse title. It’ll probably be a companion to WHiTe that’ll be called WiGHT, which will be about … well, a wight. But for now, I need to focus on getting my four kids’ superpowers going.
Until Next Time, God Bless!
