Hi there. It’s the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I’m thankful that my cold has finally gotten the message that it wasn’t welcome and has gone away. I’m even more thankful that my migraine went away yesterday morning. I’m in my fifties, which means I could talk about my ailments all day long. But that’s not news, so let’s get this proverbial party started.
Let’s talk about social media. Right now, my posts are experiencing a “likes” spiral. Why? Probably because of the election. About half of my Instagram author community would be on the political left. They are not happy right now. This is not hit piece on them. My work is apolitical and always will be. You see, authors do things like “Writers Lifts” on X and “Engagement Groups” on instagram to boost visibility. It’s the latter that is waning right now. On the writing front, the second edit of WHITE is complete and edit three is underway. My timeline is way behind, but that’s just because I want this book to have every chance at success. Success takes time. I do have more than 90 redneck memes stewing on the back burner, though. Two are stuck in my head right now, which is a little uncomfortable TBH.
