I suppose that the biggest news in the publishing world is that Spotify has opened its new platform for authors to upload their audiobook content. This won’t be anything too new for you as a consumer, but it’s huge on the producer side. Granted, there will be a lot more AI audiobooks available, however, digital narration has come a long way. I haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet. I’m gonna, though.
The big sale over at Smashwords is over. The next one won’t be until Christmas time. Thank you to all who bought an ebook, not just from me, but from all the participating authors. The author community can thrive thanks to people like you who give them a chance. I do still have two books on sale for the next few days (through 8/8/25). ANTHOLOGY OF SEASONS and my nonfiction title, SCHOOLING ABRAHAM, are both 99 cents in their ebook formats. It’s part of a Kobo promotion, but the price is reduced at most major digital retailers. On the writing front, I have drafted chapters fifteen and sixteen this week, so the current WIP is currently at 13,035 words. Not bad. For some reason, I haven’t written the first kid’s joke at all this week. That leaves us still on page fourteen. Whaddayado? We’ve got sixty-four finished redneck memes in the queue. A solid number, if ever there was one. A little heads-up, I’m strongly considering focusing on a character from my last book, Aodh. Now that he knows who (and what) he truly is, I think his story would be an excellent continuation of the miniverse. Here’s another little teaser for you; I’ve been playing around with book cover designs. This is by no means the final product, but I thought I’d share the graphic below.
